Inland from Calpe, and north of the mess of Benidorm lies the Xalo (Jalon) valley, along the Costa Blanca.

Surrounding, is some of the best , limestone crags in Spain.

We stayed in the village of Alcalali in the Xalo Valley at Casa Almar.  Our trip was very expertly managed by the very friendly folk at Rock & Sun who do great climbing long weekends which we took full advantage of.

Tom and I used the Rockfax guide for the Costa Blanca which is a brilliant guide book to climbs in the area. We climbed climbed Toix West, just south of Calpe, Gandia to the north, and some local crags near Alcalali.

A small selection of photos are available on the Photos page or you can see the complete set on my Flickr site. Enjoy!
